“Lisa, Blackpink Star, Joins Acclaimed Series ‘The White Lotus’ Cast”
The upcoming season of HBO’s popular television series, centered around affluent vacationers, is relocating to Thailand, the home country of Blackpink star Lisa.
Principal photography for this dark comedy is scheduled to commence later this month in Bangkok, as well as on the picturesque islands of Phuket and Koh Samui.
Details regarding the character that Lisa, also known as Lalisa Manoba, will portray have yet to be disclosed. Joining the cast for season three are other notable figures such as Parker Posey.
The ensemble also includes Jason Isaacs, Leslie Bibb from Iron Man, Michelle Monaghan from True Detective, Dom Hetrakul, and Tayme Thapthimthong. Additionally, Scott Glenn and Julian Kostov are set to make appearances in the series.
Natasha Rothwell, who starred in the first series, will return to her role as the esteemed luxury hotel masseuse, Belinda.Lisa, one of Thailand’s most prominent celebrities, will step into her first significant acting role, despite having appeared in a Thai drama during her childhood in 2007.
Blackpink, the K-pop superstars, recently extended their agency contract as a group, securing their continued performances together.
This decision came after prolonged contract negotiations, during which fans expressed concerns about the group’s potential dissolution.
Formed in 2016, Blackpink has risen to become the world’s preeminent K-pop girl group.Reportedly, their latest contract is one of the most lucrative agreements signed by any music group this year.
Each of the four members, all in their twenties, enjoys individual celebrity status. Their official YouTube channel boasts over 92 million subscribers, and each member has amassed more than 70 million followers on Instagram.
They’ve been the faces of prestigious fashion brands like Chanel and Dior, and have headlined major international music festivals such as Coachella and BST Hyde Park.
